The Chamber Ambassador Program is a membership outreach and retention program designed to involve and inform all Chamber members. Ambassadors are volunteers who, on behalf of the Chamber, make good will calls to encourage strong continuing membership and active support of Chamber programs.
Ambassadors assist in membership retention, program development, and information dissimilation. As volunteers, Ambassadors are dedicated to improving the quality of life of the community through Chamber work. There is also a great personal benefit returned from their service. Ambassadors gain knowledge of the community and the Chamber, develop personal relationships with business leaders, obtain an insider’s perspective on economic development activities, and expose their own business among other business partners.

By shopping in Coffee County, you simultaneously create jobs, fund more community programs through sales tax and promote community development. Dollars invested in Coffee County will strengthen the economy and enhance the quality of life for the citizens and those who visit. From the historic heart of the city to the outskirts of the county – quality shopping and professional services abound.
One way the Chamber promotes shopping in Coffee County is through a member participation discount program. A Chamber Advantage Card, which fits on your keychain, is available to all members. Participating businesses are listed on the card and card carriers are encouraged to never leave home without first considering great savings opportunities through the Chamber Advantage Program. The success of the programs can be measured in two ways, 1) savings to the shopper and 2) business support.

Drugs Don’t Work
Employers in Georgia certified by the State Board of Workers' Compensation as having a drug-free workplace are entitled to a 7.5% discount on their workers' compensation premiums. It is designed to assist businesses in achieving drug-free certification. As a business member you will have the opportunity to participate in a statewide drug-free workplace program established by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
Serving as the contact agency for Coffee County, the Chamber can help you meet Workers' Compensation requirements for premium discounts. A membership and participation fee is required. A company must also write a drug-free policy, implement an employee assistance program, and establish drug testing policies and procedures. An additional requirement that must be met is the provision of educational programs or services. Through the Chamber and support agencies, we can help you meet this need – at no cost to your business.

Douglas and Coffee County has always enjoyed a highly respected reputation for its progressive leadership and quality of life. One of the reasons for its success in these areas is our commitment to leadership development. The Leadership Coffee program was established in 1990 for that purpose.
Participants in Leadership Coffee commit to an eight-month project that allows them to take a close look at government, education, economic development, and all issues dealing with quality of life on a local and state level. The program is designed to help participants develop leadership skills for the workplace and the community.

The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce has a long history of supporting business growth and development. Just as the Chamber brings people and businesses together through “at home” Chamber events, a trip with the Chamber allows travelers to build relationships for business development. Trips are open to Chamber members and non-members.
Travel excursions through the Chamber are invaluable to promote your business and our local community. Two trips are planned for 2016: London & Paris
(May 11-18) and Israel: A Biblical Journey
